A quick look in Google&#8217;s help, <a href=\"http:\/\/groups.google.com\/support\/bin\/topic.py?topic=8388\">confirms this feature<\/a>. You need to log in to GMail (or any other Google &#8216;Passport&#8217; account).\n<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m not sure why that would be of any help: for some kind of reason, Usenet keeps reminding me of terabytes of ASCII (7-bit) files or messages written by <a href=\"http:\/\/groups.google.com\/group\/alt.fan.the-bob?lnk=srgg\">The BOB<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/groups.google.com\/group\/alt.pouting.sandwich\/browse_thread\/thread\/bbb69b0ba7b41c63\/5be8b40f2384c970?lnk=st&#038;q=Andrea+Chen&#038;rnum=1#5be8b40f2384c970\">Andrea Chen<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/groups.google.com\/groups?q=Kibo&#038;qt_s=Search\">Kibo<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/groups.google.com\/group\/rec.humor.oracle\/browse_thread\/thread\/f6aca404d033b30d\/3e94f9ee9ea8dab5#3e94f9ee9ea8dab5\">The Usenet Oracle<\/a> and other uh, luminaries.\n<\/p>\n<p>How would you rate the weirdest place on the Internet?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I noticed that Google Groups (formerly Deja News, Usenet as we called it in the back-days) now allows you to rate posts.
