A word I thought was supposed to be spelled as <em>xenotaph<\/em>: I already associated the word cenotaph with a monument for the unknown soldier. Hence the <a href=\"http:\/\/dictionary.reference.com\/search?q=xeno\">xeno<\/a>. Misheard that one.\n<\/p>\n<p>Other thing that stuck this week: &#8217;eminent gris&#8217;. It&#8217;s often used in Dutch (it&#8217;s actually French of course) to describe a person of <em>great<\/em> stature. I like &#8217;eminent gris&#8217;, because the first word comes close to the pronunciation of the English word <em>iminent<\/em>. A droit!\n<\/p>\n<p>Talking about grey, we had some flurries today. The inevitable has started. We are doomed. There&#8217;s a bright side to that, naturally: Weather Canada&#8217;s seasonal forecasts<sup>1<\/sup> look good for Nova Scotia. <a href=\"http:\/\/weatheroffice.ec.gc.ca\/saisons\/image_e.html?img=spfe1t_m1\">We&#8217;re <em>above<\/em> normal temperatures!<\/a> Good bye snow, hello Fundy palm trees!\n<\/p>\n<p><small><sup>1<\/sup> Weather Canada&#8217;s Seasonal forecast site is without doubt an amazing site for <a href=\"http:\/\/weatheroffice.ec.gc.ca\/saisons\/index_e.html#proba\">statistics  fans<\/a>. Their one year animation is simply <a href=\"http:\/\/meteo.ec.gc.ca\/satellite\/animateweb_e.html?imagetype=images_loop&#038;imagename=tm_gl_sd_...gif&#038;nbimages=1&#038;clf=1\"><em>amazing<\/em><\/a>.
