It reads chaotic too: does he mean that he&#8217;s pro-Microsoft and he doesn&#8217;t care about open formats (XML at that!)? (Note the unusual incoherent reasoning  before and after the line tagged with the number 1). But the best part is:\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"quote\">Don&#8217;t miss the irony that they named their alliance after a failed initiative of the 80s and 90s that was supposed to trouble Microsoft but instead flushed the proponents down the Toilet Of History. <em>ed: Winer means &#8216;OpenDoc&#8217;, see below<\/em>\n<\/p>\n<p>Oh, wait here&#8217;s Wikipedia about the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/OpenDoc\">Failed Technology Called OpenDoc<\/a>:\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"quote\">Sometimes, people <em>mistakenly<\/em> refer to <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/OpenDocument\">OpenDocument<\/a> (short for the OASIS Open Document Format for Office Applications) as OpenDoc.\n<\/p>\n<p>And yes, there are plenty of reasons why there should be open formats for documents: after all, isn&#8217;t that what made (for example) RSS 2.(whatever) popular?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Huh?
