I watched the <a href=\"http:\/\/edition.cnn.com\/2005\/WORLD\/europe\/09\/07\/germany.poll.reut\/index.html\">German election debate<\/a> at CNN the other day (English commentary started to annoy me at the end) and was not really impressed with both party leader&#8217;s performance. One German commented that it was good to see Merkel do reasonable good.\n<\/p>\n<p>But then <a href=\"http:\/\/edition.cnn.com\/2005\/WORLD\/europe\/09\/07\/germany.analysis\/index.html\">the mistakes are made<\/a>, almost revealing the (true?) intentions of the CDU: economical programs highlighted by -uh- calculations. It appears:\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"quote\">Kirchhof (CDU shadow finance minister) said his model tax calculations were based on a &#8220;mathematical average secretary.&#8221; According to the calculations, this &#8220;mathematical average secretary&#8221; was <em>neither married nor single &#8212; but married to a &#8220;certain percentage point,&#8221; and she would have 1.3 children<\/em>. &#8220;Is this the kind of man you want in charge of your taxes?&#8221; asked Schroeder.\n<\/p>\n<p>Classic comment from Schroeder.
