You know which one I mean: the one that you get <em>after<\/em> you keep the F8 key pressed.\n<\/p>\n<p>Then, earlier, I was reading about the <a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/1\/hi\/sci\/tech\/4213706.stm\">Mars Global Surveyor<\/a> which appears to have entered &#8216;safe mode&#8217; to protect itself from doing naughty things, like well, things spacecraft do in space where humans can&#8217;t see what they do<sup>1<\/sup>. <\/p>\n<p>Anyways, that&#8217;s a different topic: but thinking of &#8216;safe mode&#8217; for the MGS, I keep thinking of NASA engineers behind their CRTs trying to think which option to highlight. Is it going to be plain &#8216;Safe mode&#8217; or was it the one mode &#8216;with &#8216;high-gain&#8217;. Hey, at this stage, you better make the <em>right<\/em> choice: a wrong selection can take over <a href=\"http:\/\/calspace.ucsd.edu\/marsnow\/library\/mars_exploration\/robotic_missions\/orbiters\/mars_global_surveyor\/misc1.html\"><em>20 minutes<\/em><\/a> to correct.<\/p>\n<p>But then, that does sound like Windows to me.\n<\/p>\n<p><small><sup>1<\/sup><a href=\"http:\/\/deepspace.jpl.nasa.gov\/dsn\/\">Deep Space<\/a> things and stuff, you know.<br \/>\nUpdate: I used the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.ca\/search?hl=en&#038;q=Agency+FB%2Bfont&#038;btnG=Google+Search&#038;meta=\">&#8216;Agency FB&#8217; font to create the &#8216;Safe Mode&#8217; look<\/a>.
