{"id":661,"date":"2005-01-26T20:20:50","date_gmt":"2005-01-26T23:20:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.hoogervorst.ca\/arthur\/?p=661"},"modified":"2005-01-26T20:20:50","modified_gmt":"2005-01-26T23:20:50","slug":"yikes10","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.hoogervorst.ca\/arthur\/?p=661","title":{"rendered":"Yikes<sup>10<\/sup>"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=dropcap>E<\/span>arlier this week, Alan <a href=\"http:\/\/www.genx40.com\/archives\/2005\/january\/blahging\">noted<\/a> a quote from an &#8216;expert&#8217; speaking at a Blog conference (which happened to be co-organized by Robert Scoble):\n<\/p>\n<p class=quote>&#8220;if you talk about something long enough, you will become an authority on the topic.&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this day, Scoble crossed the <a href=\"http:\/\/radio.weblogs.com\/0001011\/2005\/01\/25.html#a9257\">line of incompetence again<\/a>. He&#8217;s full of it and I quote:\n<\/p>\n<p class=quote>One thing he just told me is that some companies that make spyware are actually advertising on Google for &#8220;anti-spyware&#8221; keywords. So, you&#8217;ll get hit with even more spyware.\n<\/p>\n<p>Blah-blah. Worst yet, Scoble links to a site that is literally set-up by a person who claims to be an expert but actually isn&#8217;t as he readily admits in the comments section of that same post. Now, compare it with this: <em>I <\/em> delete spyware by hand, because I truly think it&#8217;s just a <em>convenience<\/em> issue<sup>N1<\/sup>, but I don&#8217;t call myself an expert, because after all, <em>I don&#8217;t really give a damn<\/em>.
