{"id":620,"date":"2004-11-07T15:19:48","date_gmt":"2004-11-07T18:19:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.hoogervorst.ca\/arthur\/?p=620"},"modified":"2004-11-07T15:19:48","modified_gmt":"2004-11-07T18:19:48","slug":"cancer-and-that","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.hoogervorst.ca\/arthur\/?p=620","title":{"rendered":"Cancer and that"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"dropcap\">A<\/span>fter having lost a loved one to cancer, a couple of weeks ago, there&#8217;s something that needs to be told:\n<\/p>\n<p><em>There&#8217;s no cure for <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Cancer\">cancer<\/a>.<\/em>\n<\/p>\n<p>For years, I&#8217;ve been thinking that cancer could be treated but, now, I&#8217;ve finally become aware of that I&#8217;ve been living in an Oprah world. Or make that a StarTrek world. Or ER world. Whatever you fancy. Sure there are several succesful-looking leads to treat cancer, but the net result is still 1-0.\n<\/p>\n<p>I wonder if we could put all those billions of dollars spent on war machines and armies into <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cancer.ca\">cancer research<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After having lost a loved one to cancer, a couple of weeks ago, there&#8217;s something that needs to be told: There&#8217;s no cure for cancer.
