First of all, I don&#8217;t think I deserve to live in any paradise your god has to offer. Secondly, that&#8217;s it.\n<\/p>\n<p>We saw &#8216;The Passion of Christ&#8217; last night and there were a couple of things that grabbed my attention. I was impressed with the foreign languages spoken in this movie: Aramic and Latin (that is Classical Latin), but I had the feeling something was terribly wrong by the use of the two ancient languages. This is hard to explain, but imagine somebody shooting a movie situated in the Fifties and the main characters cursing typical words that would fit perfectly in our times. Wouldn&#8217;t that look weird?\n<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>I had the same feeling about the Passion. I truly wonder if there were words like &#8216;idiot&#8217; in Roman at the time of the crucifixion.\n<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, I&#8217;m not so sure what Gibson&#8217;s intention was with this movie. To show that the Romans could be cruel? The &#8216;truth&#8217;? Not to mention the dreaded close ups, slow motions and (yes, yes) pokey music. I long for the day that somebody sets a military march (as in music) to images of Jesus&#8217; crucifixion. Wouldn&#8217;t that make more sense than tearjerking violin music?\n<\/p>\n<p>Out of time.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Disclaimer: I don&#8217;t consider myself religious.
