And Texas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=dropcap>I<\/span> made hutspot the other night, which is a traditional <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amb-pays-bas.fr\/fr\/pays-bas\/cuisine\/legumes.htm#04\">Dutch meal<\/a> (French). I&#8217;m used to use <em>corned beef<\/em>, instead of the traditional &#8216;speklap&#8217;, but then, the concept is practically the same: it&#8217;s all about mash-mash-mash.\n<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, I was reminded of the day I made &#8216;boerenkool&#8217; around Christmas, because the <a href=\"http:\/\/hoogervorst.dyndns.org\/~alfons\/weblog\">bro<\/a> was here. I remember cutting up the <a href=\"http:\/\/images.google.com\/images?q=Kale&#038;ie=UTF-8&#038;oe=UTF-8&#038;hl=en&#038;btnG=Google+Search\">kale<\/a>, discovering the origin of that very kale bush: Texas. A kind of weird: there were two Dutch citizens in the kitchen. Kale? We associated that with cold weather (kale&#8217;s  normally harvested when the ground starts to freeze. That&#8217;s because <em>then<\/em> it just tastes better. Supposedly.).
