Says the most famous of them (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.instapundit.com\/archives\/014618.php\">Instapundit<\/a>):\n<\/p>\n<p class=quote>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&#8220;Eric Olsen has more thoughts on what is, I&#8217;m afraid, a bad day for the forces of civilization.&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<p>And once again it&#8217;s the perfect display of <em>utter<\/em> ignorance on foreign politics. Here&#8217;s what a <em>Spanish<\/em> expert says:\n<\/p>\n<p class=quote>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&#8220;The government has paid the price for its involvement in the war in Iraq, for Aznar&#8217;s relationship with (U.S. President George) W. Bush and (British Prime Minister) Tony Blair. The vote has been a reaction to this&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<p>Bad day for civilization? Not a chance: It&#8217;s a good day for democracy. Also: don&#8217;t forget that Spain has a <em>proportional electoral system<\/em>, which means that, as it looks like right now, the winning party has to find a partner to rule with. This is where most people like Reynolds go wrong: Spain is not a &#8216;two party&#8217; democracy. There is no &#8216;good&#8217;.
