{"id":401,"date":"2003-11-16T20:14:27","date_gmt":"2003-11-16T23:14:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.hoogervorst.ca\/arthur\/?p=401"},"modified":"2003-11-16T20:14:27","modified_gmt":"2003-11-16T23:14:27","slug":"still-images-from-der-ewige-jude-1940","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.hoogervorst.ca\/arthur\/?p=401","title":{"rendered":"Still images from &#8216;Der Ewige Jude&#8217; (1940)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=dropcap>A<\/span>t the height of the German <em>Blitzkrieg<\/em>, the part of the Second World War that ended in the dramatic surrender of most West European countries, the Nazi&#8217;s readied their propaganda machine by releasing their anti-semitic movie <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0156524\/\">&#8216;Der Ewige Jude&#8217;<\/a> (The Eternal Jew).\n<\/p>\n<p>The release was perfectly timed: the German war machine appeared invincible  and as Hitler already prophesized in earlier speeches, something was going to be done about the &#8216;problem&#8217;.\n<\/p>\n<p>Which brings me over at the Holocaust History Project website, which hosts the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.holocaust-history.org\/der-ewige-jude\/\">extensive analysises of the movie by Stig Hornshoj-Moller<\/a>. Also with study material how to deal with propaganda in modern media and (naturally) <a href=\"http:\/\/www.holocaust-history.org\/der-ewige-jude\/stills.shtml\">still images from the movie<\/a>.
