I noticed that the hurricane track pages over at the WeatherOffice are getting popular since <a href=\"http:\/\/gfx.weatheroffice.ec.gc.ca\/satellite\/animateweb_e.html?imagetype=satellite&#038;imagename=goes_ecan_1070_m_..................jpg&#038;nbimages=1&#038;clf=1\">downloading the pictures is getting slower and slower<\/a>.  Please have mercy with the Office.\n<\/p>\n<p>News outlets report that HRM (Halifax Regional Municipality) has ordered evacuation of the lower regions of the city of Halifax. There&#8217;s confusion when they expect the hurricane to make landfall, but according the latest broadcasts it&#8217;s around 11 (local time), approximately around Mahone Bay. Flights to Halifax have been cancelled since 8 pm. There are a couple of videos <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ctv.ca\/servlet\/ArticleNews\/story\/CTVNews\/1064750877144_76\/\/\/?hub=TopStories\">over at CTV&#8217;s (ATV&#8217;s parent company) <\/a>, most likely WMV files, but they aren&#8217;t up-to-date. I&#8217;m a kind of disappointed that ATV&#8217;s coverage isn&#8217;t available on-line: Aliant usually has feed but, alas, they are from yesterday.\n<\/p>\n<p><em>Update<\/em>: Mandatory evacuation orders for Sambro, Clam Harbour and lower regions of Halifax harbour by 11:30 local time.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Winds have picked up here too, but no rain yet in sight.
