In Europe, people demonstrated against nuclear<br \/>\nmissiles, were afraid of the Red Invasion or the always &#8216;around the<br \/>\ncorner&#8217; threat of a nuclear attack. The movie <a href=\"http:\/\/us.imdb.com\/Title?0086567\">Wargames<\/a><br \/>\nwas probably one of the most &#8216;pertinent&#8217; reminders of this Cold War<br \/>\nperiod of the Eighties. It&#8217;s amazing to find out how the world has<br \/>\nchanged since then.<\/p>\n<p>The movie tells the story of a nerd (Matthew Broderick) who<br \/>\naccidently finds a backdoor in a computer program and&nbsp;almost<br \/>\nbrings NORAD&nbsp;at the edge of starting a nuclear war. Nowadays the<br \/>\nmovie is way out of time, but is still&nbsp;historically interesting.<br \/>\nThe story line isn&#8217;t really as strong as I originally thought when I<br \/>\nwatched it as a kid (too fast), but on the overall, still good to<br \/>\nwatch.
