Nova Scotia Power reports plenty of areas with no power, including Truro. I guess we&#8217;re lucky, for now (I&#8217;m assuming that we may lose power in case power needs to be restored to other areas, since we&#8217;re apparently on the main grid).\n<\/p>\n<p>A couple of news articles for your interest: The CBC reports that as many as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cbc.ca\/canada\/story\/2007\/11\/04\/eastern-storm.html\">170,000 homes and businesses have lost power<\/a> and suggest that for some of them, power may be restored in a couple of days. CanWest notes that the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.canada.com\/topics\/news\/story.html?id=4173caee-7005-4777-9d5d-7fdbf9cb3644&#038;k=4038\">strongest winds were reported in Cape Breton, where winds speed hit as high as 140km\/h<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n<p>Oh, and while CNN and BBC are currently lacking news reports, it seems that the news of Noel <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nu.nl\/news\/1300356\/20\/Wervelwind_Noel_doet_Canada_aan.html\">hasn&#8217;t gone unnoticed in Europe<\/a> (via Alfons, Dutch only).\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"extra\"><small><strong>Update 1: <\/strong> Updated article at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cbc.ca\/canada\/nova-scotia\/story\/2007\/11\/04\/nsstorm-power.html\">CBC&#8217;s re: power issues.<\/a><br \/>\n<\/small><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We seem to have lost shingles and a tree (one of its main branches seem to have broken off) but we haven&#8217;t lost power.
