This morning, this thread at Metafilter reported that the tornado that hit that town (Greensburg) <a href=\"http:\/\/www.metafilter.com\/60920\/and-left-nought-but-ash\">seemed to have just flattened the town<\/a>. The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kansas.com\/static\/slides\/050507tornadoaerials\/\">pictures<\/a> reminded me of the damage after the first nuclear bomb attack on Hiroshima (1945) [see <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Little_Boy\">Little Boy<\/a>].\n<\/p>\n<p>Currently 10 people have been <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cbc.ca\/world\/story\/2007\/05\/06\/kansas-storm.html\">confirmed dead<\/a> but news media (CNN and others) fear that the number may rise the next couple of days.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Before going to bed last night, I read a brief report about a town in the US hit by tornadoes.
