Here&#8217;s the stuff that bothers me: from a programmer&#8217;s point of view, it&#8217;s always stuff that has been done before. Revolutionary?\n<\/p>\n<p>Look at the work NASA programmers do, that&#8217;s revolutionary. Winer and his scripting? No offense meant, that&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.playmobil.com\/index_e.html\"><em>PlayMobile<\/em><\/a>.\n<\/p>\n<p>So his latest screenshot, shows a <a href=\"http:\/\/archive.scripting.com\/2005\/06\/15#When:1:33:30PM\">&#8216;buddy update&#8217;<\/a> from within his OPML (trademark!) uh something, and I&#8217;m like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jabber.org\/\"><em>Jabber<\/em><\/a>? Winer says it can be called <a href=\"http:\/\/archive.scripting.com\/2005\/06\/15#reallySimpleGroupware\">&#8216;Really Simple Groupware&#8217;<\/a>, which is as close as what <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jabber.org\/about\/overview.shtml\">Jabber is called<\/a>:\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"quote\">Under the hood, Jabber is a set of streaming XML protocols and technologies that enable any two entities on the Internet to exchange messages, presence, and other structured information in close to real time\n<\/p>\n<p>So? What&#8217;s the deal? What&#8217;s so new about it? <a href=\"http:\/\/pharyngula.org\/index\/weblog\/comments\/if_you_doubt_this_is_possible_how_is_it_there_are_pygmies_dwarfs\/\">And how is it that there are PYGMEES + DWARFS??!<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8216;m underimpressed with Winer&#8217;s OPML ..uh.. stuff.
