Not to mention that the lens&#8217; autofocus mechanism doesn&#8217;t really like these temperatures either. I should find a way to keep the camera (and particularly the lens) warm, or within operating temperatures.\n<\/p>\n<p>Talking about photos: CBC has photos of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cbc.ca\/photogallery\/world\/295\/\">snow storm that hit Europe<\/a>, last Thursday. The series include a picture of The Netherlands; an uninspiring scene depicting a windmill in the snow.\n<\/p>\n<p>And then, the winner of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.worldpressphoto.com\/index.php?option=com_content&#038;task=view&#038;id=893&#038;Itemid=50&#038;bandwidth=high\">50th annual World Press Photo contest was announced<\/a>: The winning picture shows a group of young  Lebanese driving through a South Beirut neighbourhood. I was actually more impressed by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.worldpressphoto.com\/index.php?option=com_photogallery&#038;task=view&#038;id=833&#038;Itemid=146&#038;bandwidth=high\">this photo<\/a>.
