Somewhere in one of the extra features, the director (Jon Amiel) mentions a specific <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eeggs.com\/items\/40685.html\">&#8216;easter egg&#8217;<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n<p>You&#8217;ll find that fish somewhere in chapter II, in the scene where the family tries to find cover in a bookstore. Apparently (uh-huh) the whole birds shot was done in CGI, hence the fish. Although the CGI looks a lot better than the special effects used in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0056869\/\">&#8216;The Birds&#8217;<\/a> (1963), I doubt it is as scary. But I guess, when I was younger I thought mostHitchcock movies were scarier than the average typical 70&#8217;s horror movie.\n<\/p>\n<p>The rest of the CGI in &#8216;The Core&#8217; is pretty bad, particularly the scenes when the &#8216;Microwave effect&#8217; affects a city in Italy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I decided to step through the frames of the movie &#8216;The Core&#8217; (2003).
