Number one is (naturally) the IBM PC.\n<\/p>\n<p>I can find myself in most of the products: for example, I agree that Linux should be in the Top 10, but not listing either OS\/2 or Windows 3.0 (both) in the top 25 is a miss. We all know how Microsoft <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/OS\/2\">became the big company<\/a> after it severed its ties with IBM.\n<\/p>\n<p>While Ashton-Tate played a remarkable role in the transformation of &#8216;uncategorized data&#8217; to &#8216;logical&#8217; filestructures, any of the early SQL (or rather relational databases) should have been listed too.\n<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Intel_80386\">&#8216;Intel i386&#8217; processor<\/a> is the only processor to make the 25-list, which does no honour to that other revolutionary chip, the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Motorola_68000\">Motorola 68000<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In preparation of the 25th anniversary of the &#8216;Beige Box&#8217;, eWeek lists the 25 most influential products of the last 25 years (the list starts here).
