{"id":1051,"date":"2006-04-18T20:25:54","date_gmt":"2006-04-19T00:25:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.hoogervorst.ca\/arthur\/?p=1051"},"modified":"2006-04-18T20:25:54","modified_gmt":"2006-04-19T00:25:54","slug":"doom-3-recap","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.hoogervorst.ca\/arthur\/?p=1051","title":{"rendered":"Doom 3 recap"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"dropcap\">T<\/span>oday, I decided to finish off Doom 3 and beat the &#8216;boss monster&#8217;, which I apparently did in a shorter time than beating the one from the level (appropriately) called <a href=\"http:\/\/www.visualwalkthroughs.com\/doom3\/hell\/hell.htm\">&#8216;Hell&#8217;<\/a>. It was that level that had me wonder why the hell bother completing the game when all one had to do to was to &#8216;run&#8217; around in circles and try to get a shot at something the size of (what?) 30 to 50 pixels. Fun, I tell you. Much to my relief, it only took 4 or 5 hits with the &#8216;Soul Cube&#8217; to kill the last one and then, it was over. Nice exit scenes though (and funny easter egg almost near the end of the final fight [you can&#8217;t miss it]).\n<\/p>\n<p>So generally, great graphics but darn bad storyline. I thought it was telling that &#8216;Half-Life 2&#8217; had me &#8216;hooked&#8217; while Doom 3, well, not bad, but rather less captivating.
