{"id":1045,"date":"2006-04-13T21:33:48","date_gmt":"2006-04-14T01:33:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.hoogervorst.ca\/arthur\/?p=1045"},"modified":"2006-04-13T21:34:39","modified_gmt":"2006-04-14T01:34:39","slug":"show-show","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.hoogervorst.ca\/arthur\/?p=1045","title":{"rendered":"Show-show"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"dropcap\">W<\/span>hile most in the &#8216;blogosphere&#8217; will probably concentrate on Google&#8217;s latest bombshell (<a href=\"http:\/\/calendar.google.com\/\">Calendar<\/a>), a couple of remarks about not so related stuff:\n<\/p>\n<p>Congrats to the <a href=\"http:\/\/salmonriverhockey.ca\/\">Deuville Ice Hockey<\/a> rink (Salmon River) for making it to the next round in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cbchockeyville.ca\/home.php\">CBC&#8217;s Kraft Hockeyville 2006<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n<p>Frequently, the Daily Truro News features big ads about copyrights and that you as a reader are not allowed to take anything from their paper without proper permissions or payments (&#8216;You can go to jail for that!&#8217;). The other day, I was a kind of surprised to see a piece of Wikipedia in your paper, properly sourced and quoted. You didn&#8217;t pay for that, nor did you actually get a written permission for publishing that particular Gouda cheese quote, did you?\n<\/p>\n<p>Two shows I noticed today on TV: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.worsthandyman.ca\/\">Canada&#8217;s Worst Handyman<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/abc.go.com\/primetime\/americaninventor\/\">American Inventor<\/a>. How low can it go. I actually thought that Canada&#8217;s Worst Handyman was a great spoof on &#8216;reality shows&#8217;: one of the starring ladies reminded of a typical Cathy Jones act. Only minutes later I became aware that this was an actual reality show.
